Karina Gauvin & Arion win ADISQ award for PRIMA DONNA

Karina Gauvin & Arion Baroque Orchestra win an ADISQ award for “Best Classical (with voice) CD Release 2013”.

The CD was recorded by ATMA and is based on a concert produced by Arion in their Montreal Series at The Bourgie Hall (Montreal Museum of Fine Arts). Arion´s Artistic Director, Claire Guimond accepted the award on behalf of all the participants, at the ADISQ Gala on 22nd. November 2013 in Montreal.

Arion have just opened their 2013-14 Montreal Series with a marvellous concert featuring Italian Violinist Enrico Onofri. The concert was entitled “Venezia, mi amore” and was designed to support the Museum´s Italian Season. The reviews have been great.  Arion have extended their Montreal Series to 4 performances of certain concerts with a great selection of times : Thursday and Friday at 8.00 pm, Saturday at (the perfect hour) of 4.00 pm and Sunday (usually booked well in advance by long time supporters) at 2.00 pm. All now at the beautiful Bourgie Hall, of course !

Arion´s next concert is also Italian themed : “Venice Tempest” featuring guest Alfredo Bernardini on baroque oboe who is also coming from Italy ! November 14th – 17th. Book your tickets while you still can, and why not make it a great day out and visit the MMA exhibition, with dinner or lunch with one of Arion´s partner restaurants !

Oh, please don´t forget that Arion will very soon be releasing their latest CD. This is again based on one of their Montreal Series Concerts from last year. It features the “Rocker” Stephano Montanari, who blew the audience away at Arions´s concert at the Bougie Hall last Season. Stephano has been known to arrive on stage on his motorbike, with his violin over his shoulder ! I have heard the early edit of the CD and blast it out on my car´s CD player. The moderns have NO CHANCE !.
